Nashville, Tennessee, March 2, 2010 – In the final days before the 2010 Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo and the hundreds of registered attendees descend upon Music City, panelists and sponsors continue to be confirmed on the growing list of participants in the upcoming event. The event slated for this Friday and Saturday, March 5th and 6th at The Curb Event Center at Belmont University. Online registration is still open for this very affordable event. Open to anyone interested in taking their personal or professional recordings to the next level, the Nashville Recording Workshop + Expo offers two days of insights and experience from industry professionals around the country, as well as exhibits from leading manufacturers and professional organizations. From preproduction, to recording, mixing, mastering, and beyond, attendees will get a first-hand account of the ins and outs of getting the most from their recording environment.
Kicking off with a keynote address by artist/engineer/producer Ben Folds, Friday’s course of events will feature panels and demos including a basic microphone primer, advanced vocal miking and vocal production with producer Nathan Chapman, DAW essentials moderated by engineer/educator/author John Merchant with ace engineers Trina Shoemaker (ProTools), Bill Deaton (Logic) and Bob Bullock (Nuendo), beats and loops techniques, home studio tech tips, a mastering Master Class with John Mayfield, and a unique artist-perspective panel on capturing the essence of a song for proper demo production, followed by an attendee reception. Saturday’s lineup continues with programs on practical acoustics with renowned studio designer John Storyk, recording electric guitar and bass with John Billings on bass, Guthrie Trapp on EGTR and Russ Long engineering, distance collaboration with engineers Dan Rudin and Cliff Goldmacher, and (live from another room) keyboardist Barry Ledere, and studio tech tips, as well as moderated discussion panels and demos addressing topics such as “What do you need besides a great song?”, “Recording Lifeline: When It´s Time to Call for Professional Help”, “Anatomy of a Mix”, and wrapping up with “It's 2010: Do You Know What Your Organizations Are Doing For You?”. Both days will also showcase an exclusive trade show area featuring top manufacturers and organizations representing all aspects of recording and production gear and services.
