An Update on AES Vienna 2020

An Update on AES Vienna 2020:

The Audio Engineering Society continues to consider all options in relation to COVID-19's impact on the Society's International Pro Audio Convention in Vienna, Austria. For the past few weeks, the Society and its legal team have been in discussions with the convention venue, the Austria Center Vienna, concerning the effect of the current global pandemic on the ability to have our convention at the end of May. Current Austrian government regulations would prohibit such a convention. Thus, the convention is on hold pending a final decision from the Austria Center about its legal and contractual obligations in light of government regulations. We do not anticipate future regulations permitting a safe environment for the AES Vienna participants. The Society is exploring various options, including but not limited to virtualization of convention elements or rescheduling the Vienna convention.

The safety of our members, attendees, participants, and staff is the highest priority. In light of that, the Society has suspended all further registrations and suggests that attendees and prospective participants refrain from finalizing travel arrangements. As soon as we receive final word from the Austria Center Vienna, we will provide further information to participants.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented and unpredictable time.
