Prominent Producers and Engineers to Share Insights at Waves Audio

 

At the upcoming AES New York Convention, taking place Wednesday, October 17, through Friday, October 19, 2018, Waves Audio, developer of digital signal processing technologies for the professional audio industry, will be hosting a flurry of activity at its exhibition booth, #640. In “Behind the Curtain,” taking place all three days of the show, studio legends Jack Joseph Puig (U2, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, John Mayer), Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Urban, Muse), Tony Maserati (Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Robin Thicke, Nick Jonas) and Greg Wells (Adele, Dua Lipa, The Greatest Showman soundtrack, Keith Urban) will be together on one stage, discussing each other’s work and taking you behind the curtain of their different approaches in the studio. 

Other exclusive presentations at the Waves booth throughout the convention include sessions with Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T. Rex, Morrissey, Esperanza Spalding), Andrew Scheps (Adele, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica), Leslie Brathwaite (Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Pharrell Williams, Cardi B), Jimmy Douglass (Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, The Weeknd, The Internet), Piper Payne (Madame Gandhi, Geographer, Basement) and Jimmy Bralower (Steve Winwood, Eric Clapton, Hall & Oates, Cyndi Lauper) – all discussing and demonstrating their production, mixing and mastering techniques.

In addition to the action at the Waves booth, Waves Audio is a sponsor of the PSE Recording Stage on the exhibition floor, where Waves is hosting leading producer/engineers for two sessions. On Wednesday, October 17 at 2pm, GRAMMY Award winner David Darlington (Avicii, David Guetta, Sting, Oz) shares techniques and advice for vocal recording. On Thursday, October 18, multiple GRAMMY winner Michael Brauer (Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, John Mayer, Elle King, James Bay) takes over the same time slot to discuss mixing a hit record. Brauer will be joined on stage by engineer and educator Mark Rubel who will interview Brauer and include the audience in the Q&A.
