Related Experience

I have been an audio geek since I first noticed vinyl and reels of tape in motion. Had reel, cassette and vinyl devices all in hand by age 7.
The majority of the career has been in design/build/upgrade and major ops, almost always in a project role. Some experience with stage craft, lighting, power, video, noise abatement, general construction, low voltage codes. Voice of America was three intense years of travel and build, but also spent time on the road with our remote truck along three coasts of the US.

Why Am I An AES Member?

Because audio is not a subset of anything else. It is it's own discipline. I never quite caught the video, ham radio or computer bug as a kid. I have always been an audio geek. And then I discovered AES- providing standards for this technology, just as all other industries have standards for the proper application of their technology. Look how far we have come,,the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers have incorporated AES67 into their emerging media over IP standards, because this works. That's why I am a member. It is more than a hobby, it is a profession.
