For a number of years now institutions have been able to purchase a
set of CD-ROMs (20 discs) containing all the AES papers from
the Journal, conventions and conferences: over 11,000 fully
searchable PDFs documenting the progression of audio research during the
past fifty years.
Now institutions can get the full functionality of the entire AES
Electronic Library via online subscription. No more swapping discs to
get to the paper you want. No more 8-GB chunk of your hard drive needed
to load the entire library on your computer. No more installing the
update discs with each year's new material. Simply log on, enter your
institution's username and password (if necessary), and you have
complete access to everything in the library.
Do your users ever need access to AES papers when traveling? Maybe
while they're at an AES convention or conference? No problem. With
online access they will have the convenience of having the entire
library with them anytime, anywhere in the world via the Internet.
The online library is platform-independent, Mac, Unix or PC, it
doesn't matter.
Even on a low-speed, dial-up connection to the Internet, their searches
in the library will produce almost instantaneous results. And when they
need to download a particular paper for further study, the compact PDFs
will usually arrive on their desktop within seconds.
The cost for an institutional online E-Library subscription is
$1700 per year giving your users the
ability to download any paper or preprint found with no further cost.
Without the online E-Library subscription, all AES Journal,
convention and conference papers are currently available for downloading
at a cost of $5 per paper for members and $20 per paper for nonmembers.
By signing up for an online subscription to the library you save your
users the trouble of using their credit card for every $5 download. As
an added benefit they get to use the special E-Library search engine
which includes full-text searching in addition to searching by author,
title, date, or other metadata.
If you like simple, fast, and easy access to information, then you'll
truly appreciate your online access to the AES Electronic Library.

We also still have a few copies of the old disc-based Electronic Library.
To read about this "legacy" product, please click here.
However, please note that we are no longer creating update discs for that
version so it only contains documents through 2003.
Electronic Library Search
Even without subscribing you can still search the electronic library
on-line using this form so that you can purchase items individually. We
also have a form for searching only
Convention Preprints and
Conference Papers and another form for searching only
Journal Articles. If you need to
search the actual contents of documents then you must first
log in to the On-line E-Library.
