The eight track continuous loop stereo tape cartridge as developed by Lear Jet has brought about a completely new and dynamic industry. The growth rate is phenomenal. Within the confines of an automobile, one may now select the music of his choice, played in eight track, four program, stereo and of excellent fidelity. Originally the cartridge was developed for playing capability within the environmental conditions which prevail in an automobile and since, has found a wide range of other applications, which include; home playback systems, portable players and compact monaural play capability.
