Piano tones are quite complex. The partials generally are not harmonic, the dynamic charactristics differ from partial to partial, and many variations occur in different tones from the same piano. This report adds a bit to the published information on piano tones to help promote a better understanidng of their quantitative nature with emphasis upon piano turning practice.
