Some Guidelines for Tuning an Audio Coder Given a Partially Fixed Structure

Current audio coders can be classified in two different types, depending on their degrees of freedom when implementing them: fixed or partially fixed structures. Several techniques for driving the fixed parts of coding structures are presented, allowing both a coarse and fine tuning of the coder depending on the complexity considered.
