A Stereo 24-bit Audio Digital-to-Analog Converter with 120 dB Dynamic Range
This paper describes a 96 kHz, 24-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for DVD audio that achieves a 120 dB A-weighted dynamic range. The DAC includes a deemphasis filter, 8x interpolation filter, 5-bit third-order delta-sigma modulator, and switched-capacitor (SC) DAC plus post filter. The power and die-area efficient multi-bit delta-sigma architecture allows a single-chip stereo implementation in a very small-outline plastic-package (VSOP).
