Numerical Modelling of the Transfer Functions of a Dummy-Head and of the External Ear

Document Thumbnail

The boundary-element method (BEM) is used to calculate the transfer functions of the external ear and the HRTF database of a dummy head. A laser scanner was used to obtain high-accuracy geometry models, which were converted to valid BEM meshes with different polygon resolutions for different frequency ranges. The calculation was also undertaken to reveal the resultant sound field for different virtual sound imaging systems.
