Listener Differences in Audio Compression Evaluations

In perceptual evaluations of audio coders, lack of agreement across listeners is a common problem. Recent studies have suggested that listeners may differ in fundamental ways. A method is presented for determining listener strategies and comparing listeners at a fine level of detail, and the effects of averaging ratings across listeners are quantified.
