A new approach to the design of automated digital audio archives is offered by the information technology world. Several benefits can be achieved through this approach, including full automation of the management and consulting operations, scale economies, advanced search and manipulation functions, and fault-tolerant features. The aim of this report is to analyze the design of an automated archive for audio broadcasting taking into account broadcasters' requirements, technological aspects, and the expected improvements to the existing services as well as the possibility of implementing new functionalities.
