In digital equalization and general filtering applications, it is common to determine the magnitude response of the filter and then derive typically the minimum phase or linear phase so that the frequency domain is fully specified. This paper shows how the phase response can be smoothly varied from minimum phase to linear phase (and on to maximum phase) allowing continuous control of phase type.
