A method for determining the directional characteristics of sound sources, especially during transients, is presented. This paper describes an automatic operating measurement system as well as a special calculating program enabling one to determine the directional characteristics in steady and transient states. Three-way loudspeaker systems were considered for some specific frequencies from the cut-off region of the crossover networks. A comparison of results obtained for steady and transient states is discussed.
