An economical, transistorized variable-frequency audio oscillator having low distortion and stable frequency has been developed. Three inexpensive germanium transistors in a unique circuit simultaneously provide amplification for oscillation and dc gain for the amplitude control mechanism. An extensive Wien-bridge analysis is given.
