Equalisation of Sound Systems by Ear and Instruments: Similarities and Differences

While instruments such as spectrum analyzers are used to determine the equalization of sound reinforcement systems, the problem remains that the human ear responds in a totally different manner to a microphone. This paper describes the differences in the response of a microphone and the human ear and presents the results of a subjective listening test to develop a frequency response curve for a loudspeaker room system which is close to the actual human ear response.: Preprint
