New Low-Frequency Enclosure Configuration
A new band-pass low-frequency enclosure design is described, which combines a vented configuration and a transmission line for low-frequency response and acoustical filtering of the upper frequencies. High efficiency and reduced distortion are achieved in a modest enclosure size. The equivalent circuit of the driver and enclosure is described and analyzed, appropriate driver parameters are indicated, and an optimized design for a selected driver is presented. The theoretical behavior and measured performance are compared. The design is the subject of patent applications.:
