The Discrete-Time Wavelet Transformation and Audio Coding

This paper discusses the discrete-time wavelet transform from a filterbank perspective and shows how the discrete time wavelet transform can be considered an octave-band tree-structured filterbank. Examples of designs for two-band wavelet filters are given for both a conjugate quadrature mirror filterbank and a linear phase filterbank.
