Thomson and Tandberg Data are developing a magneto-optical storage system with very high storage capacity, typically 1 to 2 weeks of linear PCM audio or more than 100 digital video films on a single data cartridge. When connected to a network, storage capacity increases and data searching is possible. The system is intended for the broadcast and multimedia market.
