20 Years of the Delta Stereophony System-High-Quality Sound Design

20 years ago the first application of the delta stereophony system was installed in the large hall of the Palace of the Republic in Berlin, Germany. A very good solution to the sound design for all applications of sound reinforcement can be achieved by means of the important DSS features: good localization of fixed or moving sound sources, well-proportioned distribution of the sound level, and high quality of the sound color for all listener seats in the auditorium. These features are discussed by introducing application examples and new developments.
