J.52: A New Standard for Digital Transmission of ISO/IEC 11172-3 Coded Audio

Document Thumbnail

In broadcasting the use of coded audio is common. There are various forms of data reduction and/or compression techniques. All seem to use their own inverse mixing scheme for combining ISDN B channels. As a result, codecs from different manufacturers do not talked to each other. A standard has now been recommended that should solve this problem, called J.52. This paper discusses J.52 and its compatibility in general.
