A new measurement method is proposed for the analysis of complex acoustic wave fields in enclosures. The method is based on the use of linear arrays of closely spaced microphones. The result is a multi-channel offset-traveling recording that reveals the wave fronts traveling in the enclosure. Applications of the method, and of post-processing techniques (especially the Radon transform) give much insight in the temporal and spatial properties of the acoustic wavefield.
