Improved Triode Model
Recent use of thermionic valves has grown to such a level that factories are being reopened, and many manufacturers offer equipment boasting the use of valves, commanding a great price. Interest in the design of valve equipment has lead to the appearance of CAD models of valves. The paper shows that the theoretical model of a triode is a poor representation of its actual operation. An improved model is presented. The new model, which is based on experience gained modeling GaAs FETs, offers excellent agreement with values measured using two example tubes.
