Results of a recent investigation in Poland on historic and contemporaneous swinging bells are presented. The recorded bell sounds have been analyzed, their modulations due to swinging defined, and exemplary values given. Further development of swinging bell peal systems are discussed, and a specific solution is proposed. Many recorded examples have helped in the appreciation of the sound quality of the investigated bells.
