TThis paper is a case study on the design and construction of a reference listening room. The current reference listening room standards are reviewed and compared. In the design several different room simulation methods and programs have been used, and their performance and applicability for the design of a small room is presented. A new type of Schroder diffuser structure used in the listening room is presented. Extensive measurements have been made to calibrate the room and verify simulation results.
