Document Thumbnail

The introduction of Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) will see the most fundamental change in radio transmission technology since broadcasting first began. Apart from providing listeners with more rugged reception and consistent high quality audio, DAB offers the opportunity for broadcasters to provide new services. This paper describes the services the BBC will be providing when transmissions begin in September 1995. Possible future enhancement to services as well as the implications for receiver design are considered.
