Today`s status of audio broadcasting in Europe is characterized by a very high number of receivers of which some 30 percent are installed in cars. The market demand is for high quality audio services, supplementary data services such as provided with the Radio Data System (RDS) and, increasingly, for (interactive) multi-media services.
