Low-Frequency Options: Design Curves for Vented-Box Loudspeakers
Vented-box designs giving ripple-free frequency responses for a given drive unit can be found at a glance from the design curves. The effect of uncertainty in design parameter values can be investigated. The design curves are applicable at low frequencies for drive units with electroacoustical efficiencies of less than roughly 5% and total quality factors of between 0.20 and 0.42. Typical losses with the vented box have been assumed.
