Horn Modeling with Conical and Cylindrical Transmission-Line Elements

Document Thumbnail

The application of transmission-line element modeling to the study of horns is described. Cylindrical and conical element models, both loss-free and dissipative, are presented. A comparison between these models in terms of their convergence properties and relative computation times shows that the loss-free conical element is the best element to use for typical horn modeling. Examples are given illustrating the utility of transmission-line modeling by exploring the proper;ties of horns and other acoustical systems.
