Adaptive Filtering for Noise Reduction in Audio Signals

Document Thumbnail

Several adaptive digital FIR filter algorithms including leaky and normalized LMS and FTF have been developed and tested for noise reduction in audio data, e.g. old recordings and noisy speech. The performance in connection to the hardware complexity of the algorithms is presented for a combined forward and backward predictor structure. Further additions lead to the proposed final approach.
