Concept and Technology of New AES/EBU DIO Chips Based on AES3-199X: For Professional Digital Audio Applications
Today, the AES/EBU digital audio interface is used in a variety of professional audio and broadcast environments. However, the compatibility and reliability of this interface is not always satisfactory. Therefore it becomes very important to implement AES3 standard properly. The revised version of the AES3-1985 standard is available as AES3-199X draft standard. It is important for professional audio and broadcast systems to comply with this new standard. From this point of view, we developed new interface chips of AES/EBU DIO based on AES3-199X. This paper describes the concept, new technology of the chips, and some suggested applications.
