Quality Criteria for New Sound and TV Studios of Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WKR) in Dusseldorf-Requirements and Realization

In 1991, the WDR Broadcasting Corporation in Dusseldorf, completed a studio comprising two large television studios and some sound studios with control and technical rooms. The room acoustical design follows the so-called aimed acoustics regarding reverberation, reflections, and sound fields. Room in room constructions were necessary in order to avoid penetration of sound. Doors, windows, and double-floor construction will be explained with reference to similar studio buildings in Germany.
