Recent advances in the computer industry have resulted in networks that concurrently support both real-time and asynchronous data transfers. Leveraging this technology will allow audio system designers to transmit and receive audio/video signals as well as a variety of control/feedback protocols on the same cable. This paper evaluates how these networks can dramatically enhance designs and provide dynamic flexibility to audio systems.
