Computer control is one of the most pressing issues in professional and consumer audio systems. Today we face over one dozen different systems for controlling and monitoring audio equipment ranging from small communication busses to multimedia wide area networks. Incompatibilities between different systems, and the lack of a shared vision guiding the industry, are causing confusion, frustration, and misinformation in the minds of many audio professionals. This workshop brings together professionals who are leading the creation of computer control technologies with professionals who will ultimately install and operate the equipment. The workshop focuses on today`s computer control systems, who is using them and why, human interface factors, and anticipated future systems.
