Computer Simulation of a Formant-Vocoder Synthesizer

A computer simulation of a formant-vocoder speech synthesizer is described. The synthesizer configuration is arranged to represent significant vocal antiresonances (zeros) as well as vocal resonances (poles). The vocal modes are programmed in the computer using sampled-data approximants. Performance of the synthesizer is illustrated by tape recordings.
