The maximum-length sequence (MLS) crosscorrelation technique for measuring impulse responses assumes that the system under test is linear and time invariant. When the system is not linear, the measured result will contain artifacts which look like noise spikes or erroneous reflections. A technique for isolating and removing these artifacts is described and demonstrated with simulated and real impulse-response measurements. An attempt is made to identify the uncertainties in this correction.
