Achieving Cross-Industry Interoperability through the Use of Software Object Binding

Document Thumbnail

The lack of success of previous network protocols, such as MAP and TOP, came about because of the inability to generate industry concurrence at the hardware device protocol level. The use of software Objects as the protocol binding factor eliminates the need for concurrence between manufacturers and provides a bridge between multiindustry products. This paper describes a method for interfacing diverse products from different industries without the need for protocol concurrence.
