The Definition of Sound-Image Quality and Its Influence on Sound Engineering Concepts

Document Thumbnail

The notion of sound quality is frequently used in the domain of sound engineering, yet without precise definition, what often causes difficulties at testing sound systems, etc. A new approach is proposed by introducing a definition of sound-image quality, related to the accuracy of localization of sound sources. It is pointed out that this approach is justified from both theoretical and practical points of view.
