Experiments on Sound Emission from Wooden Surfaces

Experiments brought effective design of an electromagnetic drive unit capable of driving wooden surfaces, preferably soundboards of musical instruments, to reproduce recorded music. A certain required sound power in common loudspeakers comes from a small surface with large displacements. This results in a chance for better linearity and less nuisance with Doppler-effect. Problems are described and realizations explained.
