On the Acoustic Impedance of Strip Radiators
There appears to be no available expression for the reactive (mass) term in the acoustic impedance of long, baffled strip radiators, and the literature contains contradictory data on both the real and imaginary parts. Reliable data is important for the proper electoacoustic design of ribbon transducers, and also potentially for other long, narrow, low-mass, planar radiators, both electrostatic and electromagnetic. This paper provides analytical expressions and graphical data for the resistive and reactive parts of the acoustic load on an infinite baffled strip radiator.
