Influence of Auditorium Reverberation on the Perceived Quality of Electroacoustic Reverberation Enhancement Systems-Experiments in Auralization

The audible effects of the superposition of sound fields as by the use of electroacoustic reverberation enhancement (ERE), in small auditoria or in multipurpose halls, have been investigated. Binaural computer simulation was used to study two auditoria of widely different size/shape. Results indicate the necessity of adjustment of the acoustical characteristics of the small hall parallel to the installation of ERE.
