The Task of Automated Consoles in Live Applications and Consequent Improvements to Engineer Operating Methods

The paper describes, for each field of live application, the principles and operating features of an analog automated console with computer-controlled operation. It surveys the major changes in the operating methods for the engineer, and explains how and why this type of equipment is now considered a standard by French live sound engineers and by venue technical directors.
