Digital Reverberation Time Meter
An electronic circuit for measuring the reverberation time of an enclosure is described. Depending on the definition of this parameter, the instrument measures the time required for the sund pressure level to decay to 30 dB below its initial value. This time represents half the revereration time (RT). Proper choice of the clock pulses can make the display represent the required value. The method utilizes an rms detector, a sample-and-hold circuit, and a comparator.
