Audio in the DVTR
By the time of presentation, the recently agreed format for the component digital video tape recorder should have been accepted by the CCIR as a worldwide standard. The format includes four channels of digital audio each with an independent editing capability. It will be the object of the proposed paper to describe the format with particular emphasis on the error control strategy, the integration of the audio and video digital data into a common packet format, and the implications from a systems viewpoint including the area of synchronous v asynchronous operation.
