The Wigner distribution is a time-frequency representation which has proved itself to be a valuable tool for describing the direct sound field of a loudspeaker as measured in an anechoic room. However, the subjetive judgment of loudspeaker boxes is always done by listening tests in a living room. In order to settle this controversy, we investigated the applicability of the Wigner concept to loudspeaker responses in a reflecting environment. Three Wigner-based representations are discussed, two of which seem promising for practical use.
