Practical Problems in the Production, Handling, and Transmission of Stereo Audio for Television

Document Thumbnail

Technical specifications for track configuration and stereo signal handling do not guarantee a perfectly conformed stereo recording and transmission. Unexpected errors in phase and polarity have occurred in a number of different programs. Integrity of the monophonic L+R signal is of prime importance, and in addition to the correction of incidental phase errors, certain recording and dubbing practices might be modified to improve the monophonic signal.
