Design equations are presented showing how to enhance the low-frequency response of an existing vented loudspeaker system using the active equalizer described by Stahl. This method provides further improvements in low-frequency performance than permiteed by Keele`s stepdown method. An example is given showing the enhanced performance of an existing B(6) loudspeaker system without major enclosure modifications.
