Engineering Justifications for Selected Portions of the AES Recommended Practice for Specification of Loudspeaker Compononents

Specific details are presented relating to the engineering use of the "Recommended Practice for Specification of Loudspeaker Components Used in Professional Audio and Sound Reinforcement," and reasons are given for its preparation since several other standards on loudspeakers are in existence. Free-field, high-frequency driver, low-frequency driver, horn, and low-frequency enclosure measurements are discussed, including response, directivity, and power handling.
