Calculator Program for Musical Notes

Document Thumbnail

In musical acoustics the need frequently arises for us to be able to find out which frequency corresponds to a given named musical note or, alternatively, which note corresponds to a given frequency. Although tables exist to do these transformations, their use is somewhat cumbersome, and if great accuracy is needed, they are inadequate. The program described enables one to key in a frequency and obtain on the display an indication of which note corresponds to that frequency and the amount by which the note differs from the exact tuning. With no changes to the calculator, a note may be keyed in and the frequency corresponding to that note displayed.
