Personal Calculator Programs for Approximate Vented-Box and Closed-Box Loudspeaker System Design

Document Thumbnail

A group of personal calculator programs has been developed which helps select the most suitable enclosure for a given low frequency cone transducer of known parameters. Enclosure volume and/or tuning may be either computed or specified. Computed parameters include approximate frequency response and ripple, displacement-limited power ratings and, for vented enclosures, vent dimensions. Realization of these programs are presented for Hewlett-Packard 67, 97, and 41C calculators. Additional programs for graphic representation of approximate frequency response are provided for the 41C equipped with the 82143A Peripheral Printer, both single-strip and multi-strip "high resolution" plots, and for the 97 in multi-strip format.
